early-years.jpgNorthern Frontenac Community Services/Ontario Early Years Centre Programs. Every Tuesday from 9:30am-11:30am at Trinity United Church, Verona and every Thursday from 1:30 - 4 at Prince Charles Public School, Verona.

The first six years are the most important years in your child's life. Parents and caregivers have the greatest impact on how a child grows and develops. The OEYC is here to provide support and services to parents and caregivers as well as Early Learning activities for children. You can get answers to questions about your child's development and information about programs and services that are available for young children in your community. You can also talk to early years professionls.

Mondays & Thursdays von.jpgThe VON SMART (Seniors Maintaining Active Roles Together) exercise classes, 2 days per week. SMART is a fun and moderate intensity exercise class designed for older adults and led by volunteer instructors who have received specialized training. The 1 hour long exercise class is held at Trinity United Church Hall on Mondays & Thursdays from 10 to 11am. You must be 55 years of age or older to participate and the classes are free of charge to eligible participants. Registration is required and there is currently a short waiting list. digital-godfrey.jpgDigital Drop-In Centre at the Godfrey Social Club, 16 Westport Club every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month from 10 am to noon, Use or try-out Wi-Fi computers, printers, smart phones, digital cameras and iPads and other tablets. Digital Coaches are available to provide advice, brief training and to help solve minor problems. For more information on other locations and times, visit the website or call 613-279-2499.

Women's Drop in Group at the Verona Medical Centre 1:30 - 3 pm. Light refreshments will be served. A free drop-in support group, no registration required. A confidential, nonjudgmental space to talk, connect and and support each other to talk about issues women face. For more information, call Kim at 613-549-7850 or email.

carshow.jpgThe 22nd annual Verona Car Show will be held Sunday, August 13 at the Verona Lions Centre! Hundreds of cars from all around the region will be here in Verona vying for awards and the Grand Prize featuring a Trip to Vegas to see the great Barrett Jackson auction. With a kid's area, vendors village and entertainers, there's something for everyone! Admission to spectators and parking are free. If you have a car you want to enter contact John Nizman, 613 358 5353. The Verona Car Show is a non-profit event with all proceeds going to the Verona Community Association. These proceeds fund year round free events such as the Christmas in the Village Day, Christmas Dinner, Family Skating day and Music in the Park.

Frontenac Minor Hockey is holding it's 5th Annual Rinks to Links Golf Tourney on Saturday, Sept 9, 1pm at the Rivendell Golf Course . They are currently accepting golfers on a waiting list. They are in need of local sponsors for the event. $100 for hole/tee block advertising and $500 for gold sponsors that includes a 4' x 4' sign at the Frontenac Community Arena. Businesses can sponsor with tickets for the auction table or an auction prize of value of $100. This event allows them to keep registration costs down (no increases in 5 years), jersey replacement and other costs.
