Verona's "Music in the Park" free summer concert will be held this Sunday July 12 from 2 to 4 pm at McMullen Park and Beach. Come and enjoy the country music of Red Rose Express. What a great way to spend a relaxing afternoon in the cool shade by picturesque Rock Lake. This concert is a free event, courtesy of the Verona Community Association. Turn east onto Carleton Dr. at the Esso station. Look for the yellow signs. Refreshments available. Bring a lawn chair. Free admission. Free parking. The Verona Lions Annual Jamboree is here for three fun filled evenings, July 9, 10 and 11. The canteens opens at 5 pm. Come early and start the evening off with the famous Lions' Jamboree Burgers and fries. Then at 6:30, it is off to the midway for rides and games of chance. Try your luck at the Bingo tent where each prize value is $45.00 plus.

Cameron the Bog Lemming made his directorial debut at the Canada Day Parade in Harrowsmith. Decked out in his director duds and holding his megaphone he delighted children and adults alike. He was surrounded by his supporting cast of Verona Festival volunteers who were dressed as their favourite actors or movie characters.
The theme of the 14th Annual Verona Festival is Veronawood, Hollywood North. Dress as your favourite actor or movie character and join in the festivities. It is only a month away and the excitement is building. The entertainment has been announced and what a lineup! Friday August 8, the entertainment will be Telefoto, Mike Menor & the Amazing Hillbilly Cats. Saturday August 9, the line up will be John Torres Duo, Big Mo & the Blues Mission, The Kramdens, Filet of Soul. Sunday August 10, The Old Hims, Alyssa Berry, Georgette Fry. Portland Fire Department is sponsoring their Bass Fishing Derby this Saturday July 11.
Great prizes for all ages.
