This is it! Don your costumes and get ready for a night of dancing, prizes, games and just lots of fun. The Christmas for Kids "Halloween Dance and Silent Auction" is almost here! There will be spot dances and prizes for best costume and so much more! Plus there will be wonderful silent auction prizes: a box at the K-Rock Centre for a hockey game, Fort Henry Passes, Casa Loma Passes, stained glass art, hotel accommodations, to name just a few of the items! A free shuttle bus will be provided to carry partygoers back to Verona. Please support this worthy cause! Saturday October 24 at Rivendell Golf and Country Club. 7 pm. Tickets are $15.00 each (appetizers and light meal included) and are available at Verona Hardware.

Exciting news from Prince Charles Public School. PCPS is participating in an ambitious initiative to walk from Kingston to Whistler, BC in time for the 2010 Olympic games. The aim of the program is to walk the equivalent distance in and around the school as it would take to walk to Whistler. In fact, it will take 6,206,753 steps to walk from Kingston to the Olympic Games. During the school day, students will have an opportunity to walk and record the number of steps they take. If you would like to see how well the students from our area schools are doing in the Walk to Whistler, log on to the Kingston Gets Active website at www.kingstongetsactive.ca

The Frontenac Flyers are starting to soar. October 18 they lost by one to the Napanee Raiders (last year's Finalists). They narrowly missed tieing things up in the last few seconds of the game. More spectators coming out to the games would be a big plus to our Flyers. Come cheer them on Sunday October 25th at the Frontenac Arena. 7 pm. Visiting team Port Hope Panthers
