Welcome back Verona Farmers' Market! This Saturday marks the start of the Market's 7th year! Pick up that unique Valentine's present from one of the many vendors and their hand made crafts. You can fill those empty pantries with farm fresh eggs, winter vegetables, various meats, baked goods, assortment of jams and jellies, locally roasted coffee and more. The Portland District & Area Heritage Society will have a display to celebrate Heritage Day and the Rock Lake Seniors will have an information table. Drop by the Lion's Club this Saturday February13th. Verona Lions Club Hall, Verona Sand Road. 9 am to noon.

Can you believe it! This year is the fifteen-year for the Verona Festival. On Tuesday February 16th, there will be a PotLuck Supper to celebrate the success of last year's festival. Anyone interested in finding out more about the Verona Festival and may be interested in volunteering is most welcome. All volunteers from previous years have an open invitation to join. A power point presentation will be on screen showing the highlights of last year's festival. Come meet a great bunch of people who enjoy making Verona a fun place to live. See how you can take part in another successful Verona Festival. Bring a dish and say hello! The Verona Lions Club Hall, 6 pm.

Have you picked up your tickets for the " Down Home Dinner"? Trinity United Church will be celebrating Black History month with an evening filled with scrumptious southern cuisine, live entertainment, line dancing and a silent auction on Saturday February 20th. Tickets are only $ 5.00 per person and free will donations will be accepted for the Haiti Relief Fund. Tickets available from Local Family Farms, Verona Hardware and Trinity United Church or phone Linda Brown at 613- 374-9990

Join The Bell Rock Community Hall Association for a Potluck Supper on Saturday, February 13th at the Bell Rock Schoolhouse. Bring a dish and enjoy good company and musical entertainment provided by John McEwen. The evening starts at 5 pm with dinner at 5:30 pm. For more details contact Lynne Hutcheson at 613-374-1470

The Frontenac Community Futures Development Corporation is holding a free small business workshop on Thursday February 11. The workshop is titled "Economic Forecast 2010. The Recession's over, now what?" Guest Speakers will be Gary Bissonette and David Detomasi, professors of Queen's School of Business. Sydenham Town Hall, 4432 George St. Sydenham. 7 pm to 8:30 pm. Come cheer the Frontenac Flyers Junior C hockey team at the Frontenac Arena. 7 pm. The visiting team is the Port Hope Panthers. Sunday February 14th.
