Spring is here! The flowerbeds have been cleared and readied. The barbie is ready to be fired up. Look out summer, here we come!

Verona is going to look beautiful this summer. Flower barrels have been placed around Verona and applications are being received for the "Adopt a Barrel" competition. Deadline to enter the contest is May 7th. You can pick up your entry form at Rona Hardware, Local Family Farms, Nicole's Gifts, Main St Mercantile and Tea Room and Jitterbugs. The "2nd Annual Trail Clean-up Day" on the Frontenac K&P trail will be held Saturday, April 24 from 10 am to 12 noon. The clean up will start where the trail intersects Colebrooke Rd west of Highway 38, Harrowsmith. Interested participants are asked to register by calling Karen: 613-548-9400 ext 301.

Nicole Van Camp and Heather Fox are inviting us to the combined Grand Opening of Nicole's Gifts and Main St Mercantile and Tea Room this Saturday April 24. Mayor Gary Davison will officiate at the ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:00 am. There will be gourmet food tasting, free draws and in store specials.

Have you got your 2010 Dog Tags? They are available at $12.00 each until April 30. After this date they will be increased to $25.00 each. All dogs over the age of 2 months must have a dog tag. Pick up the tags at Rona Hardware in Verona,

Are you in for a fun time? Get your tickets now for Nunsense. a musical comedy. Performance dates are April 29 to May 2. On Saturday, May 1, there will be a dinner theatre starting at 6:00 P.M. (tickets must be pre-ordered by Monday, April 26 through John Pariselli at 613-279-2662) Tickets for the Thursday, Friday and Sunday shows are available at Rona Hardware.

South Frontenac Natural Environment Committee is holding their annual Tree Sale. Lots to choose from. White Spruce, White Pine, Red Pine, White Cedar, Eastern Larch, Red Oak, Black Walnut, Sugar Maple, Nanny Berry, High Bush Cranberry, Red-Osier Dogwood. 12-16" 3 year old bare root stock. 1.50 per tree. Mark your calendars. Dance at North Frontenac Arena on Saturday, June 5th. Nancy Lansdell tells us that the dance last year was a great success. Those who attended reported having a grand time. The committee is hoping for an even larger attendance this year. Still Standing is playing. Proceeds go to pay for the last arena expansion. Watch here for more details.
