Ok, answer me truthfully, how many resolutions have you broken already this year? It is a tribute to mankind's optimism that we make these resolutions every New Year. However inevitably we proceed to break them. I have learned not to make grandiose ones because they are almost doomed to fail. One of the few little ones I made this year was to jumpstart my body. Every winter my body signals me that it is proceeding to shut down and enter hibernation mode. However "not this year" I proclaimed and shook myself to wake the body up. My first step was to join a yoga class. Yoga classes can come in many styles and levels of difficulty and my out of shape body is not ready for most yoga classes. However the description of this class caught my attention-Hatha Yoga, a gentle and healing approach to Yoga. So I rolled up my yoga mat and went to the Monday morning class. My body protested mightily during the first few minutes but after an hour and a half of gentle yoga the body was warm and glowing and absolutely singing for more. The instructor Tanya does not push any moves and urges everyone to listen to their body and do only what they are comfortable with. My body now looks forward to my Monday morning classes, which are held in Trinity United Church. If your body needs a wakeup call, you can call Tonya Deacove for more info at 613-273-5693
