The County of Frontenac and the Township of South Frontenac have partnered together to develop a Community Improvement Plan for Verona. We are all invited to learn more about what a community improvement plan is and the positive impact it can have for the residents and businesses in Verona. Thursday, February 24th, Verona Lion's Hall, 4504 Verona Sand Road . 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Formal presentation at 7 pm.

Can you hold a note? Annabelle Twiddy is organizing the Community Choir for Trinity United Church's annual Early Easter Sunday concert. Singers from the surrounding communities are invited to join in the fun. Practices begin on Thursday February 24 at 7:45 pm. For more information contact Annabelle at 613-372-2525.

Grab your Bingo daubers and prepare to have an exciting evening. The Verona Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus are cohosting Bingo on Monday, February 28th at 7 pm. The doors and canteen open at 6 pm. Early bird game starts at 6:50 pm. Then 12 regular games and 2 share the wealth will be played. The prizes for each of the 12 regular games are meat packages. Each package includes two chicken breasts, 2 pork chops, 2 lean ground beef and one roast beef, value of $25.00. Verona Lions Hall.

Join the folkes at Trinity United Church for an Olde Tyme Canadian Dinner. Feast on Bannock from our Native tradition, cranberry salad from BC, Nova Scotia fiddleheads, PEI scalloped potatoes, mouth-watering Ontario beef, Manitoba wild rice, New Brunswick rhubarb grunt, Quebec maple syrup pie, Northern Delights Tea, and wash it all down with home made apple cider. All this and an evening of live, old time Canadian entertainment. Only in Canada, eh! $15 per person, children age 6 to 12 for $8 and children 5 and under, eat free. As these are very specialized foods, tickets must be purchased in advance from Local Family Farms, Verona Hardware, or phone Linda Brown at 374-9990. Saturday March 5, 5 pm, at Trinity United Church, Verona.

The Bedford Country and Bluegrass Open Mic plays at the Bedford Hall. 1 to 5 pm. Open mike. Performers free, audience $1.00. info 613-374-2614 or 613-374-5477 Sunday February 27th.

Verona Diners will be held at the Verona Trinity United Church on March 3rd at noon. This program provides a full-course, catered meal for residents aged 55 plus. For $11 per person, you will enjoy a wonderful mid-day meal, entertainment and transportation (if required). This is a great opportunity to meet new and old friends, enjoy some local talent, and learn what's up in our community. Reservations are required. For more details call 613-376-6477.

Play a few hands of euchre on Thursday March 3rd. Lunch is at noon, euchre at 1 pm. Cash prizes and lunch all included for $2.00. Bellrock Community Centre. For more information call 613-374-5426
