What an exciting four days ahead! Music, fishing, midway, games, bingo. Start this family oriented fun at The Lion's Club Jamboree. The Jamboree will be here Thursday to Saturday, July 7, 8 and 9. There will be games of chance, great Bingo prizes, famous jamboree burgers and fries along with a fantastic midway. Canteen opens at 6:00 PM, other activities start at 6:30 pm. Verona Lions Centre.

The Verona Family Fishing Day will be held on Saturday, July 9 from 11am to 2pm at Verona [Rock] Lake. Prizes for all kids under 16 who catch a fish. Free BBQ with hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, juice and water. Bring your boat or fish from the dock. For this event, Canadian residents do not require a fishing license. Please pre-register with Linda Bates at 613-374-1307 to reserve your spot! This is a free event brought to you by Frontenac Stewartship Council and the Verona Community Association.

Verona's free "Music in the Park" summer concert will be held Sunday, July 10. Enjoy the music of The Campfire Boys. The Campfire Boys are an acoustic duet from Eastern Ontario that have a lot of fun playing and singing just what their moniker implies - campfire songs! Jeff Callery and John Wilberforce (the son-in-law of Verona's own resident movie star - Dick Miller) bring lots of laughs and entertainment to the stage. The duo has been playing music together for almost two decades. They are both singers and songwriters. www.thecampfireboys.com Bring your lawn chairs and prepare for a great afternoon of entertainment. Refreshments available. McMullen Beach, 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Do you have a float ready to enter into the Cattail Festival Parade? The Parade theme this year is Dinosaurs, Dragons and Ducks. There will be prizes awarded for the best dinosaur or dragon or duck decorations in seven categories. Some of the categories are Best Decorated Business Float, Best Decorated Family Float, Best Decorated Horse and Rider, Best Decorated Child Walking or Riding a Bicycle. The Verona Cattail Festival will have an amazing Cattail "Vendors Village" Marketplace lined up. Vendors will be selling everything from unique hand crafted treasures, hand turned bowls, red cedar clocks, kiln-fired fused glass, tie dyed clothing to local market produce, sauces n stuff, gourmet jams. So much to see, you never know what you may find, but you can be assured it will be fun looking. There are still a few spots left for vendors. However they are going fast. The Grace Centre needs volunteers who can donate two hours of their time and help relocate the adult day program in Sydenham. They plan to hold two working bees from 9 am to 3 pm, Monday ,July 11 and Friday, July 15. Call Will Kellar at 613 483-1291.
